...I even bathe in the stuff!

I eat tea, I drink tea....I even bathe in the stuff!

I was recently gifted some Tub Tea -- which essentially is a large tea bag specifically meant to be infused in the bath tub. The idea is cute, although execution is weak, as I could have used 3-4 teabags to really get a worth "tea" going in the bath. I didn't expect to feel like I was in a teapot but really, the little bags, regardless of how "large" they are pale in comparison to the amount of water needed to actually fill the tub.

I then googled Tub Tea and found over 2,000,000 results. Apparently the idea of soaking in a tub of tea (often with salts and aromatherapy mixed in) has a lot of people out to soak you. (bad pun, I'm sorry....I couldn't resist).

It made me wonder if I couldn't just dump a whole box of Tension Tamer (or insert tea of choice here) into my bath and steep myself into a state of relaxation. At least it's a low cost option (and fun way to get rid of old tea bags that you know you've kept over a year or two!!

Whatever your pleasure and no matter how you take your tea, be it in a tub or in a cup, this is Madam Potts wishing you all a goodnight and reminding you all to take some time to relax.

Spotlight: Kalahari Tea Company

The never ending possibilities of tea blends and tea companies never fail to excite me.

Having sampled a variety of blends, it is my distinct pleasure to tell you all about the Kalahari Tea Company. This company certainly has some unique flavors -- and if nothing else, above all, I prize that which is different and unique.

In keeping with the African mystic and name, a majority of their products feature rooibos or honeybush -- both which are grown in Africa. And their website explains that they strive to give back to organizations that support the land and peoples of Africa. (Kudos for giving back!)

What intrigued me was the ChocoLatte line of dessert teas, all of which are made with Dark Roasted Cacao. I tried the Cherry Vanilla and the Match Mint with my friends. All of us agreed it was sweetly satisfying after a meal. The flavors were proportioned nicely so that you never felt overwhelmed. Sometimes flavored tea tastes fake but it seems that their use of flavorings is kept to a minimum within the blends. The tea blend really came together nicely. Sipping the ChocoLattes became a conversation piece within itself (and less fat than having a "real dessert"). My only regret is that the Kalahari people have yet to offer a dessert sampler box (hint, hint).

At only $4.99 for a box of 16 teabags it certainly is a great deal. However, I have not found any stores that carry Kalahari Teas -- but I will keep an eye out. I may have to order some online for my father who tried the teas and liked them very much (and he is not an avid tea drinker).

Good Job Kalahari for your innovative blends!

New Blend: Sassy Island Mint

Its not evey day you get to name a tea "SASSY",
but when the Tea fits, drink it! ... and sure enough, this fits to a Tea!

When asked on the PersonaliTEA form to list 3 words to describe her, Sassy seemed to leap out from the page...and so...along with some other choices and words listed, lo and behold it became known as Sassy Island Mint.

Resplendent of a refreshingly cool tropical wind, soft, cooling and minty with an exotic aroma (which to many of my friends smelled like Andes Mints). This marks my first use of an all-natural flavoring, which gives it that warm and spicy vanilla essence (mistaken often for a chocolate essence). I was given some high-powered product from my friend, who is a commercial baker and told me to have fun experimenting with it!

This white tea based blend is a unique mix of a warm tropical vanilla with a cool lavender and mint undertone. It has quickly become a new favorite blend of mine. I will have to get this up on the site for purchase...but in the meantime, please enjoy the photo.
