Tea for Me

If you recall my post from 12/29/06, I had a list of "resolutions" - things I'd like to have happen with my tea and with the blog. So, among the many resolutions was to create my own personal blend.

It all came about based on a weekly ritual called Sushi Tuesday, whereupon on that day, being Tuesday, I go for sushi. Simple enough in name. This ritual has taken place every Tuesday for about 2 years now.

but I digress...

The actual inspiration came from a yerba-mate based iced tea I always get with my standard sushi order - part of the ritual...and I said, I wonder if I could make the same taste only in a hot tea! And so....one evening in the magical tea lab I created --- Sushi Tuesday!

Sushi Tuesday
is a simple mix of
yerba mate, peppermint, spearmint & rosehips

Snuggling with Tea

So this past weekend I got to take care of my Sweetie who, like everyone else around me, has gotten sick. So a majority of my weekend was spent brewing copious amounts of tea. I surprisingly have not gotten sick, which I attribute to the drinking of burdock root infusion every morning. Normally I'm the first to get sick! I only like being sick when it means I get to stay home from work and snuggle up with a funny movie and drink tea!

MAD Grounded

Meanwhile, I have been drinking MAD pots of roots....burdock, astragulus, echinacea - all good for the immune system....even tried dandelion this morning (detoxes the blood, good for the liver but VERY bitter).

Each time I take half an ounce of root to a pint (2 cups) of water - steep 8 hours for true medicinal brewing. I prepare this before I go to bed. I wake up, strain the infusion and drink.

What with the wacky weather changes, I've made sure that I pumped up the immune system this time. I get sick at the drop of a hat - heck - I've lost my voice for sitting in air conditioning!

And so far so good. For 2 weeks now I've been drinking down the roots.

I'm starting to drink herbs in the morning and my teas at night. It varies..what I drink..but I seem to be following a new pattern. And its got me feeling very strong, internally, physically, mentally.

What with the massive changes I am making in my life, some grounding is Good.

Looooove Tea

Dear Tea Blog (and tea blog readers) ~

I know I have been a less than attentive Madam. Though I have not blogged in two weeks, my love is still strong. I have spent more time in the kitchen than on the computer.

My most recent custom order, a sweeet & spicy rooibos, was sent off to a very sweet lady in Connecticut. I realized that I hadn't made a Valentine's Tea this year! But what with my recent surge of positive feedback with this red tea, I may dub this Royal Red Tea the honor of being this year's Looooooove Tea. After all, a little sweetness and little spice and lots of warmth - sounds like a perfect Valentine to me!

So to lovers and tea lovers and loving teaspoons everywhere....

Happy Valentine's Day!
